Armin Stegbauer is a punk in spirit, ex-Greenpeace activist, and café owner with a passionate mission. The preserver of the "Café Kubitscheck," a Munich traditional patisserie from the 1950s, has made it his task to reposition cake culture in the spirit of the times. Armin Stegbauer ist Punk im Geiste, Ex-Greenpeace-Aktivist und Caféhaus-Betreiber mit einer leidenschaftlichen Mission. Der Bewahrer des „Café Kubitscheck“, einer Münchner Traditions-Konditorei aus den 1950er Jahren, hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, die Tortenkultur neu im Zeitgeist zu verorten. Seinen unbedingten Qualitätsanspruch formuliert Stegbauer im Claim: Fuck the Backmischung! 

Aufgabe

Entwicklung des Interior Design, des Corporate Designs und der Kommunikationsmittel

Lösung

Das Gestaltungskonzept basiert auf drei Grundlagen. Zunächst stand die Persönlichkeit des Inhabers im Fokus des Entwurfs. „Zeig mir welche Musik Du hörst, ich sage Dir wer Du bist“. Diese Forderung war Ausgangspunkt und Roadmap für das Look & Feel und die daraus resultierenden Umsetzungen des Neuen Kubitscheck. Das Neue Kubitscheck sollte Café, Straßenverkauf und Ausstellungsraum für Tortenkollektionen mit den daraus entstehenden unterschiedlichen Anforderungen an den Raum vereinen. Damit einher gingen die strategischen Überlegungen zur Wahrnehmbarkeit des Unternehmens.

Einen ebenso wichtigen Einfluss auf den Entwurf nahm das Stadtviertel. Das Westend ist durchdrungen von einem breiten Querschnitt der sozialen Milieus. Gastarbeiter, Bildungsbürger, Rentner und Studenten leben dort neben- und miteinander. Das Neue Kubitscheck sollte dort für den Spaß an der Vielfalt stehen, die aus dem Zusammentreffen von Individualität entsteht.

Das Spiel mit der Tradition und deren Persiflage zog sich als roter Faden durch das Corporate Design und prägt die Gestaltung der Kommunikationsmittel. Die Tonalität spielt mit Genussbegriffen und dazugehörigen Assoziationsmöglichkeiten sowie mit Symbolik aus subkultureller Semantik. Zu den Kommunikationsmitteln gehören Einladungskarten, Anzeigen, Packaging, Speisekarte, Website und Schaufensterbeschriftung.
