Urban Soup GmbH is a Munich-based start-up founded in 2015 by then-students Tim Maiwald and Daniel Schmel. Their mission: to challenge conventional fast-food chains with delicious soups that are "sipped" directly from the jar.

Die Urban Soup GmbH ist ein Münchener Start-Up, das 2015 von den damaligen Studenten Tim Maiwald und Daniel Schmel gegründet wurde. Ihre Mission: Mit köstlichen Suppen, die direkt aus dem Glas „gesippt“ werden, gängigen Fast-Food-Ketten den Kampf ansagen.

Aufgabe

Entwicklung und Realisierung eines Marken- und Retail-Design-Konzepts für den Markttest im Hinblick auf einen nationalen Franchise-Roll-Out.

Lösung

Aufbauend auf der Fragestellung was Urbanität ausmacht, liegen dem kreativen Ansatz die Themen Improvisation, Vernetzung und Abgrenzung sowie subkulturelle Kommunikation zu Grunde.

Das Leitmotiv „We´re working on it“ greift die Themen auf und bildet die Klammer für alle gestalterischen Maßnahmen.

Ein Baukastenprinzip schafft sowohl für das Corporate- als auch für das Interior Design individuelle Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten und gewährleistet gleichzeitig die Wiedererkennbarkeit der Marke. Demnach werden individuelle Store Designs aus den Modulen Farbschema (zum Beispiel Grundfarbe „Kartoffelsuppe“ materialübergreifend angewendet), Materialien (Gitter, Lochholz, Neonleuchtmittel, Stahl, Glas) und Styling (Plakatwände, definierte Improvisationselemente, Wandgrafiken) generiert.

Das Konzept wurde von Herbst 2018 bis Herbst 2019 in drei Läden in der Münchener Innenstadt getestet.
